L.A. County Sheriff and the City of West Hollywood to start nutrition and fitness program for its youth

 

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Youth Activities League and the City of West Hollywood will kick off its new fitness program designed to benefit its youth. The new program, “We Run WeHo – Fitness and Nutrition Challenge” has its kick-off celebration on, September 30, 2011 at 5:30 pm in Plummer Park located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard in West Hollywood. Pre registration begins at 5:00 pm. Our goal is to improve the health of our youth, benefiting both their bodies and minds. As a result, improving self esteem and developing leadership skills by setting goals, taking action, working as a

team, and ultimately being victorious.

Timeline of evening events:

5:30 pm – Inspiration and encouragement from Olympic track star Carol Rodriguez.

6:00 pm – Our Cross Fit Trainer Aaron Mitchell will lead us in warm up and fitness drills.

6:30 pm – Family fun run around Plummer Park escorted by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s

Department.

7:00 pm – We will have a healthy snacks demonstration by our nutritionist Ruth Smith. This event is being sponsored in part by Whole Foods.
