On Thursday at Pauley Pavillion in Los Angeles, retired Lakers superstar Kobe Bryant was honored at the Nickelodeon Kids Choice Awards with the Legend Award.
He urged the kids to always follow their dreams, and “be aware of those around you who will try to crush your dreams. Never give up, do whatever it takes to make those dreams possible,” he said to the excited crowd.
Once he concluded his speech, Bryant was drenched in gold slime on the stage.
The Kids Choice Award orange carpet not only featured Kobe and his family, but also Matt Barnes, Steph and Ayesha Curry, Zendaya, Lakers’ Jordan Clarkson, Chris Bosh, Cam Newton, and NBA champions Kyrie Irving and JR Smith to name a few.
The 2016 Kids Choice Awards will air on Sunday at 8PM EST/ 5PM PST on the Nickelodeon network.
