“SEAFOOD PAELLA”
(Serving: 4)
INGREDIENTS:
2 (12oz) cans of Vegetable broth*
½ cup of Butter
¼ cup of hot sauce
6 Cloves (small)
½ tsp. of Salt
½ tsp. of Pepper
½ tbsp. of Garlic Powder
INSTRUCTIONS:
Combine the vegetable broth with the butter and hot sauce in a large boiling pot. Add the yellow onion
(cut in half), Cloves, Old Bay seasoning, , Salt, Pepper, Crushed red peppers, Minced garlic and Garlic
powder to the pot. Bring this broth to a boil. (NOTE: You may substitute 1 can of vegetable broth for 1
cup of Japanese Sake for extra kick.)
Add corn on the cob (thawed prior if frozen) and crabs legs (broken in half) in first. Cover pot with lid
and keep to a medium flame/slow boil. Marinate every 5 minutes.
Use medium saucepan for your yellow rice. Bring water/butter to a boil then add rice. Reduce to a
simmer and cook for exactly 20 minutes. (Use a timer to not overcook)
After 15 minutes, add shrimp, mussels and clams. Steam for 5-10 minutes. Marinate your seafood every
few minutes.
A sign that the Mussels/Clams are ready to eat is that they’ve opened up. NOTE: Some Mussles/Clams
may not openly fully and need a light tug with fork/tong. If you have to use force, toss it as it was likely
dead prior to cooking and can “possibly” make you sick.)
At this time, your rice should be complete and your Seafood should be nicely marinated.
Serve Seafood and light broth over yellow rice. Sprinkle dish with chopped green onions as garnish. Enjoy!
